Jack, tell us a bit about yourself
Where to start?! I grew up around Tunbridge Wells and have recently branched further out, buying my first property with my partner. We’re absolutely thrilled to have a project to focus on in our spare time.
When I was younger I raced Caterham 7s which has stuck with me and blossomed into a lifelong love for cars. I also love travelling (I know, what a cliché!) and can’t wait to continue later this year.
How long has TN Accountancy been around and what do you enjoy most about your job?
Having been in the industry for 7 years prior, TN Accountancy has been running for 3 years. I personally love being my own boss and having the ability to help clients. One of the biggest achievements was employing my first member of staff, Sam, who is a Chartered Certified Accountant. She helps manage corporate clients.
Tell us a bit more about the business
We are a chartered tax adviser practice – an accountancy firm with a strong focus on tax realms. I am very pleased to say that we have also been nominated for the National Tax Awards twice, which as a team, we are very proud of. We must be doing something right!
What attracted you to the offices at Lonsdale Gate?
What initially attracted me was the high specification of the offices – the reception area is particularly impressive!
The central location is fantastic if I need to pop to a meeting (2 seconds from the rail station) and the air conditioning/heating unit has been ideal in the transitioning seasons.
The best way to understand business is to be an accountant… what do you think?
It certainly helps to understand your numbers! While it’s not essential to know your numbers as well as an accountant would, it is really important to have a good understanding of the fundamental finances of your business.
What is essential for a client that wants to excel?
We tend to find that the clients who do best are the ones who have a good understanding of how their businesses are doing financially, keep their bookkeeping up to date and keep their profitability under review. This is something we often assist clients with and help them get a better understanding of their business.
Where do you see the business in five years’ time?
Here! Hopefully expanding with space and members of staff…
And finally, how do you feel Lonsdale Gate will help your business?
The professional image and warm welcome is exactly what I had envisioned for my client experience. The added value services (such as telephone answering and postal services) have also made it easier for the operation of my business, not to mention with managing my new influx of enquiries and filtering sales calls.
We’ve already gained so much from Lonsdale Gate, particularly in gaining clients and with networking opportunities. I can’t wait to see what else occurs as a result!
