From Ukraine to London! A centre manager’s story of entering the unknown.
In June last year Elena, came to England from Ukraine as a refugee. In just three weeks of being in the UK she started her new adventure at Lonsdale Gate as a Business Centre Manager.
Seven months into her role, Elena realised that this had been one of the best moves she had ever made. Elena quickly embraced the British culture, making lots of friends, and in turn adopted by a supportive team within Penhurst. Mixed with kindness of her centre’s clients she stated ‘This mix is the best way to experience a British business.’
She goes on to mention how it was amazing to see that after COVID, so many successful businesses moved from London to the green belt (Kent) and actually enjoyed coming to the office.
Elena had been working for 20 years in a leading Ukrainian private B2C business including retail and private healthcare. She states Ukrainians are VERY demanding and are not shy to share their feedback. When they part with money, they will expect an impeccable service, atmosphere and surroundings. So Elena’s perfectionism developed from there. She shares the same vision as the directors for a clean and very welcoming environment.
She also makes it her daily routine to listen to clients’ needs and ideas in terms of what could help them improve their business, and where we as a centre/service provider can step in to make that happen.
This is just the beginning of Elena making her mark upon Penhurst Business Ventures. We still have so much more to see, and her excitement for the future and networking is apparent through her dedication and determination to make these centres work for all types of businesses.
